We provide advice and treatment for common ailments and self-limiting conditions free of charge, without the need for a visit to the GP. See the "Book An Appointment" page for included conditions. Our pharmacist Anna is a qualified Independent Prescriber, and is able to advise, treat and refer for a wide range of conditions, following a consultation. See the "Book An Appointment" page for included conditions. Walk-in appointments are also available, but there may be a wait.
We dispense NHS prescriptions, including Repeat Dispensing prescriptions, and have a fast, efficient wholesaler service.
We provide NHS flu vaccinations to those eligible during the flu season. See the "Book An Appointment" page for eligibility requirements.
Talk to our friendly pharmacist if you are looking for "the morning after pill". We may also be able to help you with ongoing contraception.
If you have run out of your regular medications in an emergency, and you are unable to obtain a prescription from your GP, we may be able to help.
If you have recently been discharged from hospital, we can ensure any change in medication is issued correctly and help you understand any new medications.
You can pre-consent for us to access your records, so that if you do have a stay in hospital, when you are discharged, we will be able to access your discharge summary without delay. If you are looking to quit smoking, we can provide a 12-week course of advice and nicotine replacement following an initial consultation. Please see the "Leaflets & Forms" section of the website for the Stop Smoking Consent Form, or pick one up in branch.
Patients receiving treatment for substance dependency can be recruited to this service via their treatment provider.
This service is designed to reduce the risk of blood-borne viruses and other infections in people who self-inject substances. Calean syringes and needles can be obtained from the pharmacy free of charge, and used equipment should be returned to us for disposal.
Please return all unwanted medicines to the pharmacy, where we will dispose of them safely. We may require additional details from you in some circumstances, depending on the nature of the medication you are returning. Please note that all used sharps should be disposed of by calling the Sharps Waste line on 0300 123 9208.
These services are not funded by the NHS but are provided by Nanty Pharmacy
We can deliver medications to your home, free of charge. We prioritise those patients who are unable to attend the pharmacy. Please ask us about our delivery service if you think it is something you require.
If you are not eligible for a free flu vaccination, you can pay to have one done privately.
If you are a patient with Woodlands, Llynfi or Bron-Y-Garn Surgery, we can collect your prescriptions. To order your repeat medication, call the Prescription Hub on 01656 311 010 - some surgeries will also use My Health Online, accessed via https://www.myhealthonline-inps2.wales.nhs.uk/
You can speak to our pharmacist Anna about options for period delay - the price will depend on how long you require the medication for.
If you are overweight with a BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with weight-related medical problems, and have tried to lose weight through diet and exercise, you may be eligible for a private weight management service. These are to be used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. You will need a consultation with the pharmacist to assess suitability and supply may be subject to availability. See "Weight Management Leaflet" for pricing.
Free at-home STI testing kits are available to collect from Nanty Pharmacy, as well as free condoms.
Treatment for Erectile Dysfunction including Viagra Connect and Cialis Together are available for purchase subject to consultation with the pharmacist.
